If your professor has identified and approved you for accessing the Art & Design computer lab, you must complete the access request form. Request Form Here
This must be done 72 hours in advanced of the day you are requesting. The system won't allow you to schedule less 72 hours of their planned visit. You will use your Tiger username and password to login. I've attached a request form to explain how the form is filled out.

Once your request has been submitted and I have approved, you will receive an email with request being approved. Prior to your visit you will need to complete the Everbridge app on your phone. I've attached a link explaining how that works as well. https://cisweb.cuny.edu/health-screening-app/User-Instructions-for-Health-Screening-App.pdf

You will then be ready for your campus visit. On the day you are to be on campus, you will first report(wearing a mask) to the Administration building, ground floor, where security will check your Everbridge app and temperature. You can then proceed to C-106. Once there, I will explain the rules and guidelines for using the lab and escort you to the lab. We will maintain social distancing and computers are designated for use. Hand sanitizer and electronic wipes will be on hand. The hallways are marked for traffic direction and no water fountains will be available in the building. You won't be able to eat or drink in the lab. The vending machines are empty so students should bring snacks, food, and/or water with them. You will be permitted to consume those outside the building. The bathrooms will be available and marked for use. Mask will be mandatory to enter any building and to go onto school grounds. We won't be supplying any mask so students should bring an extra one.

It is the mission of the Department of Art and Design to provide each student with a strong foundation in the traditional techniques and processes utilized in the creation of visual art; to offer students an opportunity to understand the historical importance that visual art has in human society and to gain critical thinking skills through writing and the collaborative discussion of artworks; to assist students in the development of a personal approach to making visual art; and to create an environment for students to incorporate new technologies into the process of creating visual art.
Fine Arts / Art, Visual
Our department believes that the development of a strong personal creative vision within a liberal arts foundation gives our students the ability to navigate their place within an ever-changing world. Today’s art and design students require not only up-to-date technical instruction, but equally importantly, a firm grounding in art and design history, hands-on making, self-promotion and exhibition methods. A commitment to life-long engagement with visual art specifically and the arts broadly is what we seek for our students. The Art & Design Department believes that all students deserve the right to a creative, theoretical, and expansive educational experience regardless of economic status, ethnicity, culture or societal expectations. Our department strives to create an inclusive and diverse community that is reflective of the world around us. We foster the understanding that individual creation and public presentation are equally important for a successful visual dialogue.

The Art Gallery of the City University of New York is a vital educational and cultural resource for Queensborough Community College, the Borough of Queens and the surrounding communities. The Doors are shut, but the Show Will Go on: Queensborough Offers a Virtual Tour of Works by Nearly 80 Art Students
The Department of the Art and Design are proud to present the Juried Student Exhibit 2020. Included is the digital version of the show including videos from digital art students.

Introducing The Qcc/women's Caucus For Art/un Representatives From The Department Of Art & Design
Professor Annemarie Coffey, Art & Design, reflected on the present conditions that are far from those present when these works were selected, and first created by the students. “COVID-19 has wrought change so radically paced and extreme that none of us has gone unaffected.”
She continued, “Each of us looks for a way to cope, steel against the anxiety of isolation, grieve our losses, direct the lost and reach out to the mired. But mostly we survive, because despite flaws in the system our nature wills it. Ironically spring, seemingly nonplussed, trumpets its blossoms, greens the fields, and warms even as it lengthens days. I can't help but recognize these young artists are very much like spring; willful, inevitable in their growth and embracement of life. So I invite you to view, take refuge, laugh and celebrate our students: Megan Groll's “single twirling lady”; Sierra Slotnick's “bird now ascends in triumph”; appreciate Christine Jansen's prescience in her urging, and finally let Shuaige abate all of our nightmares.”
Deep appreciation goes to Professor Kenneth Powell and Jin Hee Choi, who orchestrated and composed the show's online presence. Gratitude is extended to all the faculty and staff of the Department of Art & Design, the Art Gallery and Queensborough's Office of Marketing and Communication for their support.
